Harris Teeter, part of the Kroger family of companies and based in Matthews, NC, needed a portal for vendors and business partners to access planogram documents, store layouts, and sales reports. Harris Teeter turned to the team at M16 Marketing to assist in creating a secure document-management solution based on SharePoint.

Planograms are diagrams showing how and where specific products will be placed on shelves in stores. Premier brands (i.e. General Mills, Coca-Cola, etc.) that sell through stores broker with Harris Teeter for product placement on store shelving. Field managers upload planogram documents to document libraries where they are versioned, categorized, and published (after an approval workflow). Notifications are sent to vendor contacts when new documents were uploaded. Planograms, documents, and sales reports (created by SQL Server Reporting Services) are made available through a custom vendor-branded interface. Vendors sign in using forms authentication (backed up by the extranet Active Directory). The solution is hosted on infrastructure in the Harris Teeter customer support data center.
Assurant sells insurance products and extended device and appliance protection services. Using Responsive Web Design, SharePoint, .NET, and SQL Server, the M16 team created a branded site to give end-users the ability to register their major appliances and purchase a service plan.

Utilizing a multistep wizard-like interface, the system securely registers customers, validates customer information (serial numbers, appliance brands and models, etc.), recommends insurance products, and accepts payment information. Validation and in-process customer data is saved and retrieved in SharePoint lists. Registration, authentication, credit card data, and billing information are processed server-site via already existing web services in Assurant’s CMS and purchasing systems. All interface elements were built as SharePoint Web Parts. Using SharePoint allowed the IT department to easily deploy and support the system, scale the site within the farm, and manage the site and data through a web-based interface.
Milliken, based in Spartanburg, SC, is a 150 year-old leader in industrial floor coverings, textiles, and specialty chemicals. Milliken turned to the team at M16 Marketing to create a new corporate website based on SharePoint and Microsoft .NET.

With SharePoint 2013 as the corporate platform for website content management, our consultants were tasked with pushing the boundaries of what could be achieved using the then-limited capabilities of SharePoint 2013’s Publishing Site template. The site had to incorporate Milliken’s new modern brand and messaging while still honoring the company’s storied past. The results were impressive enough that their subsidiary, MilliCare, immediately engaged for a Responsive Web Design site redesign of their own – resulting in the only SharePoint-based RWD site that we knew of at the time. Documentation, deployment support, and on-going SharePoint support were provided to the Milliken IT department.
NAVWARSYSCOM, the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (then known as SPAWAR), based in San Diego, CA, as an Echelon II command within the US Navy. The Command is tasked with providing and supporting all information technology systems to the US Navy Fleet and Space Systems. NAVWARSYSCOM subcontractors, Northrop Grumman and Booz Allen Hamilton, turned to the consultants at M16 Marketing to build a public education website for the JPEO JTRS strategic program.

Using Microsoft SharePoint as the chosen CMS platform, the M16 Marketing team designed and created a public-facing website based on the Publishing Site template. The CMS incorporated content approval workflows, a complex storyboard based on SharePoint list data, and several data-collection forms. The site was also mandated to be W3C and ADA Section 508 compliant while positioned as a best-in-class DOD website. This project required our consultants obtain security clearance as the project was implemented on-site at the SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific in San Diego. Extensive documentation, detailed deployment procedures, and on-going SharePoint support were provided to US Navy DCAO.
